How It Works
Most stations install the UnattendedWeather.com software on the same computer they use for production. It can run on any Windows 10, Windows 8.1 or
Windows 7 (SP1) computer at your location that has an always-on connection to the internet. It is entirely possible to install the software on the on-air
(automation) computer if that machine has connectivity to the internet. Some of our clients install the machine on some of the other office computers
that have connectivity to the on-air studio (traffic, music, etc.).
Your UnattendedWeather.com voices have pre-recorded virtually every possible weather forecast, time and temperature. This software running at your
location will automatically retrieve these necessary pieces and parts from the cloud (on-demand) to build (splice) together the current forecast. Our
recordings are all high-quality uncompressed audio artifacts.
The finished forecast overwrites the previous "recording" at the specified location every time the temperature or forecast changes. Our technology means
no wiring is necessary and there's no additional equipment to buy. Your weather airs through the same digital system and sound device as your commercials,
so your sound is consistent. With most automation systems, your jingle or music bed can be added if desired. Your digital automation system handles all
playback, commercial insertions, sponsorship credits and logging the same way your station handles spots today. There's no extra work needed for weather
sponsorship.
Another benefit of UnattendedWeather.com is that each of your stations can follow its own policy, have different lengths, content guidelines and air weather
with different voices concurrently on every station in your cluster. Several times each hour and again seconds before every scheduled forecast our software
updates your current conditions from the National Weather Service (additional services are being added - Yahoo is currently in beta).
The software is just one piece of the overall puzzle. When you combine our software with our dedication to service beyond the software; you have a combination
that can't be matched by any other vendor. We work tirelessly to improve our products and services to provide you with better tools to accomplish your
goals.

Voices flagged with the term (LEGACY) represent voices that do exist; however, due to factors beyond our control they are to be considered as-is. They do work, they are fully functional; however, the ability to add custom intros/outros and other changes are no longer available.
We are adding voices all the time. We are happy to use your stations voices; however, there may be a fee associated for the required editing and other work involved.
NOTE: The above samples are in MP3 format; actual audio is high-quality uncompressed. Not all voices support all available available features.

Install
You are not able to use the browser you are running to install this software.
Please use Microsoft Edge (Microsoft Windows 10) or Microsoft Internet Explorer (Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1 or 10) install the software. If you are currently using Microsoft Windows 10 and aren't currently viewing this page using Microsoft Edge, click here to automatically launch Microsoft Edge for this page.
Automatic Startup
This requires two parts:
- Automatically launch Windows with a default user.
- Automatically launch UAW.
To solve the first problem, you can follow the instructions found at:
https://www.intowindows.com/how-to-automatically-login-in-windows-10/
As for the second problem, you can create a batch file (ie. UAW.CMD) that can be placed in your Windows startup folder (see below). The batch file contains:
@ECHO OFF
REM Place in %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
IF EXIST "%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Shiny Stone Digital\Unattended Weather.appref-ms" (
"%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Shiny Stone Digital\Unattended Weather.appref-ms"
) ELSE (start /b "" cmd /c del "%~f0"&exit /b)
You can then use the Windows + R key combination to access the "Run" command. In this command, enter:
%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
This will open the Windows Explorer window to the Startup folder. Place the batch file you created into this folder.
